Our love was made for the movies or a broadway stage - full of exploration and adventure, travel, matching couples outfits, endless love and laughter, family, shared passions for the arts and life, listening, learning, and growing together. And of course, perfectly captured photographic memories worthy of being Instagram famous.
Life Updates.
We Moved!
We traded city life with the kind of space (and backyard) we want to let Leo grow up in. We’ve relocated to Westchester where we’ve just begun to build our community. We’re still close enough to NYC to head in pretty much anytime we want, but far enough that we have a parking spot included in our rent. Looking forward to laying down some roots and making lots of new family friends!
We Visited Ghana
Our long-term goal since date #2 or #3, has been to live tri-coastally with Ghana being a place we call home a few months each year. Rich’s family is thrilled. Leo spent a few months by his grandparents side eating all the fufu, contombre, and fresh fruits that he could! Meanwhile Rich worked hard setting up the internet, local documentation, and services to make our yearly transitions smooth. Rich and Leo loved the heat (Erica is learning to love it!)
We had a baby!
We welcomed our baby boy into the world on February 22, 2021. That night, our family grew to three and our lives changed forever. Leo Kodwo has been a blessing since day one. He’s a pretty calm, happy baby and we are thrilled to watch him grow, learn, and develop. So far, he’s turning out to be a pretty good traveler too - which is necessary with parents like his!
We Got Married!
Against all odds, on August 15, 2020, we got married! We took our life and our destiny into our own hands. Despite all the hardships of being in the middle of a pandemic, the difficulties of getting a marriage license, and the challenge of finding a venue in New York City that would host us, somehow we said “I Do!” We took the sourest lemons life had to offer, and we made the sweetest lemonade.
She Said Yes!
Almost everyone saw this coming, and it’s been a long time coming. It’s been a long road to get here, but we couldn’t be more happy and excited. From the very first Hinge dating app text to the road trips and travels, the birthdays and holidays every day we spent together just got better and better. At some point, when you know…you know, and for us that day was July 12, 2020.
